Knowing that you’re bringing another person into the world can feel daunting, especially financially. But it doesn’t have to be. There are a few key items your baby will need, and the list on page one will help you figure out what’s a necessity and what isn’t. It’s always fun to buy fun toys or cute clothes for baby, but make sure you’re buying the things you really need first.

A Healthy Baby

Make the most of your stay at the hospital after baby’s born so you can keep your baby healthy. Ask questions to nurses and doctors when they come in and don’t be afraid to stand up for your baby if you think a doctor is making the wrong call. Always ask for a second opinion.

As a new parent, just focus on the essentials, like having clean pajamas, making sure your baby is fed and clean, and getting as much sleep as possible. Everything else can fall by the wayside for now or be tackled by a family member.
